Where to Put a Massage Chair at Home: Clearance, Power and Floor
Measure the reclined footprint, not the upright one. And do not put it in the spare bedroom.

The number on the box is the wrong number
Chairs are listed at their upright dimensions and used at their reclined ones. The Z90 Pro stands 161 × 74 × 114 cm and stretches to 186 × 74 × 83 cm when it goes back. The Z91 Plus is 163 × 75 × 118 cm upright, 187 × 75 × 84 cm reclined.
Put masking tape on the floor at the reclined footprint before you decide anything. Five minutes with a tape measure prevents the most common piece of buyer's remorse in this category, which is a chair that fits the room but blocks the door on the way back.
Wall clearance is the constraint people forget
A chair without a wall-hugging mechanism has to sit well out from the wall, because the backrest needs somewhere to go. A wall-hugger slides forward as it reclines instead. The Z91 Plus needs roughly 5 cm behind it, and in a normal Indian bedroom that is the difference between a chair that sits neatly along a wall and one that has to live in the middle of the floor.
The rest of the checklist
- Power: a socket within reach, with no extension cable crossing a walkway. Both chairs run on ordinary Indian mains.
- Floor: hard and level is best. Deep pile carpet lets the chair rock slightly under load and makes it a nuisance to move.
- Delivery route: measure your doorway, stairwell and lift before the chair arrives, because it arrives in one very large carton.
- Light and view: somewhere you would happily sit for twenty minutes. Facing a television usually means you watch the television and ignore the chair.
- A surface within arm's reach for a phone and a glass of water.
Do not hide it
The strongest predictor of whether a massage chair gets used is whether you walk past it. Guest rooms are where chairs go to become furniture. Living rooms and the corner of the bedroom you already use are where they become part of the evening, and that is worth more than any placement advice about feng shui or light angles.
