Diwali and New Year Wellness Gifts for Employees That Get Used Every Day

The dry-fruit box is finished before Bhai Dooj. The gift your staff still mention in February is the one they sat down with every evening.

NexGen Classic Plus leg, calf and foot massager in black, three-quarter view

Nobody remembers last year's dry-fruit box

Every October the same carton goes out. Almonds, cashews, a tin of sweets, perhaps a brass diya, in a box with the company logo on the lid. It is a decent gift. It is also finished before Bhai Dooj, and it looks exactly like the one your staff received last year, and the one their neighbor brought home from a different company that same week.

A wellness gift behaves differently. A leg and foot massager costs more than a hamper, and nobody eats it. It goes next to the sofa and gets used at half past nine on a Tuesday in February, after a long day, by someone whose calves ache. That is a far better moment to be remembered in than the minute it takes to open a box.

A sweet box says Happy Diwali once. A massager says it most evenings until the next one.

We should be straight about the limits, though. Our lowest-priced massager costs more than many companies spend per head at Diwali, and for a workforce of five hundred it is simply the wrong gift. So the useful question is not whether a massager makes a good corporate gift. It is which of your people should get one, and what to do for everyone else.

The tax-free gift limit tripled this year

Most gift lists online still stop at ₹5,000, and there was a reason for that. Until March, gifts from an employer were tax-free for the employee only up to ₹5,000 a year. Under the Income-tax Rules, 2026, in force since April 1, the ceiling is ₹15,000. That changes what a company can give without handing anyone a tax bill.

Three details decide whether a gift actually stays tax-free.

  • It is a yearly total, not a per-festival one. Diwali in November and New Year in January both fall in the 2026-27 tax year, so they share a single ₹15,000, along with any birthday voucher or work-anniversary gift.
  • It covers gifts and vouchers, not cash. A cash bonus is taxed as salary from the first rupee.
  • Treat it as a ceiling rather than an allowance. On the cautious reading, once the year's total goes over, the whole value is taxable, not just the slice above the line.

The company's side has its own rule. Gifts up to ₹50,000 per employee per year are not treated as a supply under GST, but Section 17(5)(h) of the CGST Act blocks input tax credit on goods given away as gifts. Budget on the full invoice value, because none of the GST comes back. Show all of this to your CA before the purchase order goes out, not after.

Here is where each of our leg and foot massagers sits against the new limit.

Match the gift to the job, not the headcount

The usual mistake is choosing one product and multiplying it by the number of employees. A wellness gift lands best when it fits the body that does the work, and these four suit quite different bodies.

  • Desk teams: the T99 Pulse, ₹6,666. A flat mat that sits under an office chair or a sofa and sends a TENS pulse through the soles, with infrared warmth. It also comes with four electrode pads and a body belt for the lower back, shoulders and neck, which is exactly where eight hours at a screen collects. Boxed, it weighs 8.7 kg, so it goes home in one hand.
  • A whole team, when this is the only gift: the Aero 361, ₹15,000. Air compression around the calves, ankles and feet, rollers under the soles, and heat. The wells are wide enough for larger calves and the liners zip off for washing, which matters once the whole family starts borrowing it.
  • Anyone on their feet all shift: the A867 Air Pro, ₹29,000. Floor supervisors, retail and pharmacy staff, nurses, security teams. Air cells wrap 360° around the feet, calves and knees at once, with infrared warmth for the soles and knee joints, on a 15-minute timer.
  • Long-serving and senior staff: the Classic Plus, ₹27,000. Deep shiatsu rollers with tapping, vibration and heat up to 50°C for the soles, ankles and calves, in a housing that tilts through 90° so it works from an upright chair or a sofa. This is the one for the person who has been with you twelve years and never asked for anything.

Above ₹15,000, a gift becomes a taxable perquisite for the person receiving it. That is no reason to avoid it. Tell them, or run it through payroll, so a thank-you does not turn up months later as a surprise on their tax statement.

For a retirement, a 25-year milestone or a founder thanking a business partner, a full massage chair is a different kind of gift. The Z372 Plus at ₹1,40,000 is our lowest-priced home chair: 3D rollers on an SL track, a body scan before every program, and heat at the waist and calves. A chair needs a wall, its own socket and room for the leg rest to extend, so ask the family before it arrives rather than after.

Past forty people, one chair in the office goes further

Do the sum before you commit. Give a T99 Pulse to each of 200 employees and the bill is ₹13,33,200. The same money buys 8 Z90 Pro massage chairs.

Nobody needs that many. One chair with a pair of leg massagers beside it, in a quiet room everybody can reach, does most of the job. A 4D chair in the office gets used every working day by people who would never buy one for themselves, and it is still there next Diwali, which no hamper can claim.

Be honest with yourself about one thing. Staff can tell the difference between a gift to them and an amenity for the building, and a chair in the break room is not a Diwali present, however good it is. Pair it with a modest gift that goes home with each person, and let the chair be the bigger gesture.

Before you order twenty of anything

  • Have someone try them first. If you are in or near Jaipur, send whoever signs off on the order to our Malviya Nagar showroom and have them sit through a session on each massager. No appointment is needed, and twenty minutes settles it.
  • Deliver to homes, not the office. The Classic Plus weighs 22.5 kg in its carton and the A867 Air Pro 30 kg. Nobody wants to carry that onto a scooter after the Diwali party. Delivery is free anywhere in India, so ask us about sending each unit to the person's home.
  • Put a safety card in every box. A massager is a comfort appliance, not a treatment. Nobody with a pacemaker or another implanted device should use the T99 Pulse without their doctor's clearance, and anyone who is pregnant, has a circulation condition such as deep vein thrombosis, has lost feeling in their feet through diabetes, or is recovering from an injury should check with their doctor before using any of them.
  • Ask for one GST invoice in the company's name, with each model and quantity on its own line, so accounts can value the gift for each employee.
  • Get the warranty in writing. Every unit carries a manufacturer warranty, and after-sales support for all of them comes from one supplier rather than twenty marketplace sellers.

Diwali is close. New Year is the quieter slot

Diwali falls on Sunday, November 8 this year, with Dhanteras on Friday the 6th. If the gifts have to be handed out before the office closes for the festival, order in October. Couriers are at their busiest in the week before Diwali, and a bulk order placed then is a gamble on the date.

If that is too tight, give the gift at New Year, and it may land better. In the first week of January nobody else is handing your staff anything, so yours is not the fourth box on the dining table. Across North India it also arrives in the coldest stretch of winter, when warmth on the soles and calves is most welcome. Just remember that both dates fall in the same tax year: a T99 Pulse at Diwali leaves ₹8,334 of the tax-free limit for January.

Frequently asked

What is a good Diwali or New Year gift for employees?
Something they will still use after the festival. A leg and foot massager gets used most evenings for years, which sweets and dry fruits do not. For a whole team, the T99 Pulse at ₹6,666 stays inside the ₹15,000 tax-free limit, and for long-serving staff the Classic Plus at ₹27,000 is a more substantial thank-you.
How much can a company gift an employee tax-free in India?
Under the Income-tax Rules, 2026, in force from April 1, 2026, gifts and vouchers from an employer are tax-free for the employee while their total for the tax year stays within ₹15,000. Until March 2026 the limit was ₹5,000. Cash is always taxed as salary, and Diwali and New Year gifts count toward the same yearly total, so confirm your plan with a CA.
Can a company claim GST input credit on Diwali gifts for employees?
Generally not. Section 17(5)(h) of the CGST Act blocks input tax credit on goods given away as gifts. Gifts up to ₹50,000 per employee in a financial year are not treated as a supply, so no output GST is due on them either. Ask your accountant how it applies to your company.
Do you supply massagers in bulk for corporate gifting?
Yes. We supply companies across India with volume pricing on bulk orders, free delivery anywhere in the country and a manufacturer warranty on every unit. Send us the quantity, the cities and the date the gifts must arrive, and we will reply within 24 hours.
Is a leg massager a safe gift for older employees?
Older staff often get the most use out of one, starting on a low intensity for ten to fifteen minutes. A massager is a comfort appliance, not a treatment, though. Anyone who is pregnant, has deep vein thrombosis or another circulation condition, has diabetes-related numbness in the feet, a recent injury, or a pacemaker or implanted device should check with their doctor first, and a TENS unit like the T99 Pulse is not suitable for anyone with a pacemaker.
Are Diwali gifts to clients taxed differently from gifts to employees?
Yes. Gifts to clients, dealers and other business contacts fall under the TDS rule for business benefits, the old Section 194R: once one recipient's gifts from you cross ₹20,000 in a year, 10% TDS applies. A single premium leg massager can cross that on its own, so check with your accountant before ordering.
